In the game “Remnant 2,” a special character class called the Engineer offers a unique gameplay experience centered around heavy weaponry and automated turrets, enhancing your movement speed when wielding powerful guns.
If you revel in the fusion of technology and substantial firepower, this class is tailor-made for you. To unlock this class, you need to find a special item in a place called N’Erud and give it to a character named Wallace.
Furthermore, you’ll be pleased to learn that you only need to undertake this journey into the fog once. Once the secret Engineer Archetype is unlocked, it becomes accessible as a starting Archetype for new characters, complete with the Technician armor set. Now, you can set your sights on uncovering other secret Archetypes, such as the Remnant 2 Explorer, Remnant 2 Invader, and the Remnant 2 Archon.
How to Unlock Engineer Archetype in Remnant 2
Getting the item is the tricky part. You have to find something called the “Alien Device.” It’s in a place on N’Erud with two big maps, and you’ll need to be careful because there’s poisonous gas in the area and then give it to a character named Wallace.
To unlock the Engineer Archetype, you will require the following crafting materials:
- 1000x Scrap
- 10x Lumenite Crystal
- 1x Alien Device
Alien Device Location on the map
The Alien Device can be found in the realm of N’Erud, specifically within the second major area, which could either be the Eon Vault or the Timeless Horizon.
To identify the exact location, you need to skim the edges of the Timeless Horizon or Eon Vault map, looking for a specific rock formation. What you’re looking for is a big spire on the right and a ledge with spikes on the left, and between them, there is an obvious gap. That’s the actual location where you can grab the Alien Device.
How to Grab the Alien Device
Your next step involves entering a foggy and hazardous region where you’ll experience sickness. Follow these steps cautiously:
- Run through this gap into a foggy area. Your character will start vomiting, but keep moving forward and to the right.
- Shortly after, leap over a gap in your path.
- Collect the Technician’s armor set from a dead body before you. While it’s not essential for unlocking the Engineer Archetype, it complements the class’s aesthetic, so consider picking it up.
- Indulge in another about of vomiting (yes, it’s part of the process), and Quickly jump down to a lower area of your left.
- Grab the glowing object in the dirt. This is the Alien Device you need.
Unfortunately, your character’s health won’t endure the toxic fog, and you’ll meet an untimely demise. Fret not; you’ll swiftly respawn at the last checkpoint.
Now, all you need to do is find Wallace to unlock your Engineer Archetype.
Unlocking of Engineer Archetype
With the Alien Device securely in your possession, it’s time to return to Ward 13 and locate Wallace. Who can typically be found perched on the steps at the dock? Present the Alien Device, 10 Lumenite Shards, and 1,000 Scrap to Wallace.
In exchange, he’ll bestow upon you the Drzyr Caliper. This remarkable item enables you to equip the Engineer Archetype, unlocking its unique abilities and powers.
From now on, the Engineer Archetype will also become available for new characters.
This Engineer Archetype allows you to use heavy weapons and turrets, providing a unique gameplay style in Remnant 2.
